For true prosperity and true success one should seek the Lord and not ‘Good luck’. Since we prosper at the stake of our neighbors we should see gambling as a sin.
“And this commandment we have from him that he who loveth god love his brother also”(1John 4:20-21)
“America is addicted to gambling and doesn’t even know it. Americans are familiar with our nations other major addictions: narcotics, alcohol, tobacco…But today, the fastest growing addiction in America are unchecked ad almost unrecognized. It is gambling.”
Most of the gamblers do not know what they have become-where they are in the crossroads of life. When slowly becoming an addict you hide you whereabouts from our near and dear ones. You may tell people about your addiction who don’t know you but it is your guilt working inside that make you secretive from your loved ones. One may tell himself to be a recreational gambler. Well it is up to the point that you plan to stake a certain amount and don’t go beyond that. But addicts or those catching up the addiction find themselves to be in front of ATMs or using paychecks.
It’s at this point of time that you’re loved near and dear ones get concerned about you. Your behavior certainly does change and this is best reflected when you get the concerns. It’s also the time when your focus completely moves away from God and you concentrate upon your gambling and the money. The bible doesn’t mention gambling to be a sin in direct statement but it certainly says that having an addiction that takes the place of God in our heart is certainly a sin.
